Born from the founders vision to revive Szeged's underground scene, the initiative is more than just a project: it's a commitment to reviving techno's raw essence in a scene they felt was underserved. Their philosophy: "We believe culture is not dead here, we just have to feed the society with the sweet electronic circuits." Design Brief & Challenge The collective requested an industrial, brutalist, and minimalist visual language. The core challenge: establish a recognizable identity while keeping each event fresh and varied—adapting to different headliners, venues, and atmospheres. Campaign Design & Visual System For the club season launch, Budapest's Crime was invited as the headliner. Research into his restrained yet relentless sound led to featuring his iconic circular saw blade logo reimagined through stark black-and-white photography. Szeged's cityscape appears against a bold red background, elevating the city's underground club culture. Based on Swiss typographic principles, the heavy, angular typography reinforces the raw edge of the music with an industrial texture. Plus, a custom modular grid system was developed as the structural foundation for all applications (both digital and physical.) This layout ensures visual coherence across posters and social media while allowing flexible adaptation for the event. The Instagram feed was sequenced as a unified narrative, where individual posts create an intentional rhythm, transforming the feed itself into a designed artifact. Results The campaign reached 200+ participants, the club's maximum capacity, making it Deflate Sessions' most successful event and significantly increasing the collective's awareness in the Hungarian underground electronic music community. The initial following in social media also exceeded 500 followers.
